In the Basic Search section, users can enter a sequence of characters in order to locate it within the corpus. The Humnet search system allows users to explore the content of the transcriptions through three main search modes:
- Exact search. This mode retrieves only those results that reproduce the input sequence verbatim, respecting both the order and the form of the words. For example, when entering the expression «dicen cosas como», a valid result would be a fragment such as: «Me pregunto si las nubes miran hacia abajo y dicen cosas como: “Ese tiene forma de imbécil”».
- All words in any order. In this type of search, the system returns fragments that contain all the specified words, even if they do not appear together or in the same order. Thus, a search using the terms «mamá» and «hijo» might yield a fragment such as: «—Hijo, ponte a barnizar los muebles, por favor. —Sí, mamá…».
- Partial search. This mode does not require all the entered terms to appear in the transcription. The system retrieves fragments that contain at least one of the search terms. For instance, entering «mamá» may produce results such as: «—Mamá, quiero estudiar Filosofía y Letras…» or «Hola, mamá del deportista que ganó. ¿La podemos entrevistar?».
The Advanced Filters section allows users to refine the search by applying various criteria, such as the source medium (name of the social network, country), the type of sample (meme, demotivational image, GIF, etc.), or the topic, among others. The results are displayed as a list of humorous texts, with options to view the sample and the transcription, access the complete file, and download it in PDF format.
